                                          Description/Rationale

The powerpoint used on the industrial revolution shows the depth of my content knowledge. The use of pictures graphs and other materials within the powerpoint demonstrates knowledge of outside sources and displays incorporation of multiple visuals that were beneficial in teaching the content.  Also, the power point artifact is accurate, in-depth, and comprehensive in studying the Industrial Revolution  Not only through the powerpoint slides were important points illustrated but through interactive lessons such as the simulation of and industrial factory. The lesson plan provided above describes the lesson and further displays the use of multiple illustrations of important content. In the lesson the class simulated the working conditions in a industrial factory. The pictures above show the materials used during the simulation. The picture of the money on the right shows what I, the industrial manager, payed them with for final products. The dress in the middle shows what students used as their machines during the simulation. The final picture displays an example of the final product students could get payed for. Not only did the simulation provide a different way to present important material but created an engaging experience for students.

                                          Reflection

The interactive and detailed power point was successful in providing multiple illustrations of important content. Also, the simulation was an extremely effective lesson in helping the students understand the conditions of a factory. They could easily tie in the things we did in the simulation to the material we had been covering in our lectures. All the students seemed to really enjoy it and I had many comments about how it made what the students were learning really stick. Not only was it fun for the students, but it was fun for me as the instructor getting to paly the industrial manager for the day.
